Preparing Your Pins For The Party Season

With the party season fast approaching, and shops filled with sparkly little numbers for every sort of festive occasion you could imagine, it's never been more important for me to sort out my beauty regime and look my absolute best at the drop of the hat. My number one priority is having silky smooth and party-ready skin, and baring my legs so much at this time of year means I need to look after them constantly and here's a little rundown on how I do just that...

To Shave Or Not To Shave / If you're after a super quick and affordable way to get smooth pins for your night out, shaving is definitely the way to go, but if you're anything like me, and your hair grows back almost immediately (TMI, soz huns), digging out your razor multiple times a week just isn't the one. For the ultimate fix to your gorilla leg woes, we're seeing more and more laser style treatments you can do yourself and Panasonic have just brought out their IPL hair removal tool that I hear is the best of the best and something I'm desperate to get my hands on as it pretty much permanently rids your body of any hair and is the ultimate key to silky smooth skin!

If laser treatments aren't quite your bag or in your budget though, epilation is a fab way to get long-lasting results and it can be virtually pain free nowadays! This one from Phillips is definitely on my wishlist - a Black Friday buy perhaps? There's always waxing and good old Veet as well, so if you're after being clean shaven all month long without the fuss of shaving errrrrrry day, there's definitely an option for you.

Getting that party ready glow / With so many tanning products on the market now, it's hard to pick a fave, especially as everyone has different needs and skin tones. I'm as pale as can be and while I used to have a mild fake tan addiction back in the day, it's not really something I keep up with all the time now. I'm a big lover of gradual tans though and the Body Glow gradual tanner from Skinny Tan (available in Medium or Light) is THE ONE. It goes on effortlessly and leaves you with the most amazing glow the next morning, and there's none of that horrible biscuit stench - it's lightly scented with coconut instead!

On the other hand, if you don't like being sticky and having to waddle round your house in your birthday suit waiting for your tan to dry, the St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan range is fab and takes all of 3 minutes to apply before you're good to get on with the rest of your day! I'd recommend skipping the light shade and going straight for the medium one though since the colour payoff isn't anything dramatic and it will leave you looking subtly bronzed the next day! WIN.

Last minute essentials / So now you're pampered to perfection, you've got your glad-rags on and all that's left are a few last minute saves to up your glamour game. I personally can't leave the house for a night out without smothering my legs in the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Golden Shimmer Dry-Oil (what a bloody mouthful). It might be a bit sparkly for some - they do a shimmer free version too! - but I love it, and it makes my legs look AMAZING in photos, plus a bit of shimmer at Christmas time never hurt anyone, right? For a quick fix that's easier to get your hands on though, baby oil works just as well and it's cheap as chips!

What's your secret to getting Christmas party ready? How do you keep your legs in tip-top shape this time of year?
