Life: Hello August

Goodbye July and hello August!

I literally say this every time but WHERE DID THAT GO?!

While I'm not happy at all that the year is whizzing by before my very eyes, the arrival of August means we are one month closer to Autumn AKA the season to get cosy AF and I can finally bring out my v.extensive jumper collection.

I digress.

If you read my last post (5 happy things about July) you'll know that July was a good month overall. I turned the ripe old age of 25, started a new job and had a lovely weekend in London. While the majority was AMAZING, there was a few bits which were bloody well horrible but if anything they've given me a kick up the bum and I feel like a new woman and ready to kick start the new month as I mean to go on!

I last did one of these posts back in June where I vowed to;

Instagram more / (I dropped off the face of the earth for a month but I've since uploaded every day can follow me here!).

Practice better self-care / (something I'm definitely getting better at and I'm spending much more quality time on myself and my mental health which I am starting to reap alllllll the benefits from).

Cook more / (I work pretty much every night but I don't buy takeaways anymore and I cook when I can, so I guess that's kind of a victory?)

Quite pleased with my lil old self as I'd completely forgotten what goals I'd set myself so it's nice to look back on them and give myself a pat on the back!

As for this month?

Get my bum to the gym at least 4 times a week / I feel like I've included this one in most of my Hello... posts but I really want to get my arse to the gym and STICK.AT.IT. My goal at the minute is to go as much as I can throughout the week before work, but I'm aiming for a minimum of 4 times a week which I don't think is too unachievable. Girl needs those abs!

Maintain a proper skincare routine / Much like me going to the gym, my skincare routine is just as sporadic and sometimes I give my face a right old pamper and others I'm lucky if I even swipe some micellar water here and there. Unfortunately though huns, I'm not getting any younger and I think it's time now to start taking care of my skin, starting with a proper skincare routine morning and night.

SAVE THE PENNIES / Just last night we booked a little holiday to 6 weeks time. Cray cray I know, and while we got a good deal, I'm determined to save every last penny that I can so we can afford to have a lovely time there and not be worrying about our finances. Time to get frugal!

What are your goals for the month ahead? Let me know in the comments and don't forget you can follow me on Bloglovin' to see how I get on!

Always, Alice x
