Beauty: The Budget Foundation To Beat Them All

I won't sugarcoat it: I'm a self-confessed foundation hoarder.

I am always on the hunt for that dream product that will give me the perfect base and I've probably tried about 98% of foundations on the market (starting all the way back with the horror that was Dream Matte Mousse...wow).

I've tried countless high-end bases, and had an inevitable little love affair with NARS Sheer Glow, but I picked a fault with every one of them and could never find something that drew a line between being cakey and light coverage and that actually matched my skintone perfectly.

I wrote a post a little while back confessing my love to the Clinique Superbalanced Silk foundation, and while that is definitely an AMAZING one to try, I still wasn't completely satisfied.

The day came when I'd run my Clinique dry but I was borderline into my overdraft so had to that usual mad dash into Superdrug to find something that would just do.

I came out with the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation and I definitely wasn't expecting big things but I was poor and I thought as long as it stops me from looking like a complete gremlin for the forseeable future then I can get on board and work with it.

HOLY GUAC, I WAS WRONG.

I spent around £8 on this little badboy and it's probably the best foundation I have EVER used. It's full coverage without being too full that you just want to get a trowel to your face after a couple of hours but it does such a fab job covering up any blemishes and basically just making your face look bright and radiant. I normally find with most foundations that they're either a little too red or a little too yellow toned to completely suit my skin but this one sits somewhere in the middle and it's fab.

It's so easy to blend in and it is seriously long lasting. Like it stays put all day even after a 10 hour day running around a restaurant floor or being out and about on the hottest day of the year. Oh and it's also got SPF 20 which is just a bloody marvellous bonus!

It's somewhere in between a matte and silky finish too which is surprisingly something that I love. I've always been all matte errrrythang but with this one I can have the best of both worlds which suits me perfectly.

I even comes with a pump that you don't have to pay an extra £5 for....YAAAAS.

My only niggle with this (I was never going to be completely happy was I?) is the colour range. While the second lightest shade (100 Ivory) suits me perfectly and matches my skintone well, there isn't a great deal of choice for gals with darker complexions but for the pale gals this one is a 100% winner.

Obviously this isn't going to work for everyone but I have been so impressed with it and since it's such an absolute flippin' bargain, I'd definitely recommend it from the high hills and urge you to give it a try!

Alternatively, I'd love to know what your favourite foundation of all time is, and what other budget beauty winners you've found - I'd love to try them out for myself!

And don't forget, as always, you can follow me on Bloglovin' to keep up to date with my posts and see what other little treasures I've been trying out!

Happy Sunday...

Always, Alice x
