Supercharge Yourself

I don't know about you, but I go through stages of being a healthy, super-fit, clean eating nutcase. In between scoffing allllll the cake, I'm constantly on the quest for wellness and finding new ways to look after my mind and body. My cupboards are chock full of superfoods and good stuff (and chocolate, cos it's all about the balance right?) but one thing I surprisingly haven't tried is Manuka honey.
It seems to be absolutely everywhere at the minute, but if you've never heard of it, it's definitely the 'in thing' both to eat and in beauty product form. It's definitely not cheap but it's said to be one of the best things you can put into and onto your body and I was so intrigued after reading up about it - and obviously I was thrilled when Holland & Barrett contacted me asking if I want to try some out as part of their new campaign!

The 'Supercharge It' campaign invites you to add a little bit of something something to your life each day - in particular flaxseed, spirulina, or Manuka honey - that will give you a boost and nourish you from the inside out. I am ALL about that life, and once my little pot of honey arrived in the post, I wasted no time at all drizzling it over my morning porridge and adding it to my hot drinks. Those are just a couple of ways you can use Manuka honey though...I'm going to try adding it to toast and using it to make face masks too!

Hailing all the way from New Zealand, Manuka honey is full of allllllllll the good stuff - I'm talking amino acids, calcium and vitamin B to name a few and it's said to be a fab remedy for a whole load of ailments. Got a sore throat? Manuka honey and lemon in warm water or just a spoonful will sort you out. A bit of a funny tummy or suffering a bit with allergies and a runny nose? Manuka honey seems to have all the anwers due to it's anti-bacterial properties and the list of benefits goes on and on. It can even be put on minor burns and wounds to speed up the healing process! Hopefully with a few more spoonfuls I can say finally say ta-ra to my chronic runny nose for good!

Since trying the food version, I'm also eager to try out some of the Manuka Doctor products as they sound amazing for the skin and just what I could use right now...and if they're good enough for Kourtney K then I'm on board!

Have you ever tried Manuka honey before? I'd love to know all about little ways you take care of yourself each day, let me know in the comments as I'd love recommendations on what to try next!

Always, Alice x
