Life: Books You Need To Read In 2017

I don't know about you but I was a complete and utter bookworm when I was little. I pretty much read every book in primary school and I used to go to the library round the corner and take out 5 pretty hefty books every week and I'd have them all read in a few days. I was totally obsessed with Gossip Girl, Lemony Snicket and I think I even went through the entire Nicholas Sparks collection - oh and Jacqueline Wilson, she was the ultimate BABE.

But then one day I just stopped and I think years went by without me reading a single book!

I've always loved reading but I've been so busy getting to grips with being an adult and doing boring grown up stuff with my time like washing the pots, sorting out the weekly shop and tidying the house EVERY BLOODY DAY because messy husband, that I've rarely had time to read the back of a book nevermind the whole thing.

I set myself a little challenge though to read at least one book a month throughout late 2016 and into this year and I want to tell you all about the ones I've been loving and surprisingly I've actually finished!

Room by Emma Donoghue / I normally like to read books before I watch the films but I did this in reverse this time around. The film is bloody amazing so I thought I'd give the book a read and it's equally amazing! It's told from the point of 5 year old Jack who lives in 'Room' with his mum. It's such a tear jerker and something I couldn't stop thinking about after I read/watched it!

The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins / I wasn't fussed about this when it first came out and took my time buying it but I did just that at the weekend and couldn't put it down - so much so I finished all 409 pages in just 2 days! I love reading thriller books and this one's definitely smart and will keep you on your toes - I can't wait to watch the film next and see how it lives up!

You're The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher / Ohhh I think Giovanna is definitely my new favourite author. I love her writing style and how you immediately fall in love with the characters and feel as though you know them! This is an easy to read love story about 3 friends and all about them growing up and their lives together. Another page turner. I loved settling down to read this before bed.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern / I love a magical story where I can let me imagination run wild and The Night Circus is perfect for that. It's set back in the late 1800s and really tells the tale of a mysterious and magical circus and all that surrounds it. I absolutely adore this story and Erin Morgenstern such a beautiful writer that I can't wait to read more of her books!

The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes / My current squeeze, I'm really enjoying getting stuck into this at the minute! Anyone who loves Me Before You will love this too although the story is completely different and will make you love it and the characters for their own merits. I can't wait to see how it ends!

What books have you been loving? Have you read any of these ones?
