Beauty: The Ultimate Matte Factor

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Benefit. Some of their products have absolutely wowed me beyond belief whereas others have left me feeling a little bit unimpressed, and after receiving ANOTHER Benefit sample in my last Birchbox, I obviously did a little eye roll.
I received one of the POREfessional Matte Rescue gels, which I'd never actually heard of before so I wanted to put it to the test but since I wasn't all that impressed with the original POREfessional primer, I wasn't expecting that much.

Oh was I wrong.

If you crave matte skin and want your makeup to stay in place all day errrrrrry day then you NEED this in your life. I used up the small sample tube over the space of 2 weeks and loved using it every day knowing that my makeup would still look flawless 12 hours later. My job requires a lot of running around, with lots of early starts and late nights and standing in a boiling hot kitchen, so it's a miracle normally if my makeup lasts a couple of hours without fading off my skin and making me look like a ghost.
Since I've been using this though, my makeup stays in place all day, and I don't get that dreaded shine and the overwhelming need to powder my face every 5 minutes! In all honesty, I'm quite fussy with my makeup and skincare and I'm really loyal to the brands I love, so it says something that I was absolutely heartbroken when I ran out of my little sample size that I had to immediately run to my nearest Benefit counter and pick up the full size!

Packaging wise as well, I'm super impressed with the full size version. You get so much product in the tube and I don't even seem to have made a dent in it yet and I've been using it for a month already. It is obviously fairly pricey at £21.50 for 50ml of product but I'm a big believer of you get what you pay for, and I 100% don't mind paying more for quality!

If you're in the market for a new primer and love a matte complexion as much as I do, I'd definitely give the POREfessional Matte Rescue a go - it's something I look forward to putting on in a morning and it has made such a difference to the way my makeup looks! I don't think it's even actually advertised as a primer but it definitely should be as it gets rid of all the excess oils in the skin like nothing else I've ever used and mattifies the skin down to perfection creating the best base for applying makeup - something every gal needs in their life.

What is your favourite primer? Have you ever tried this one before?
Let me know in the comments below and don't forget there's still a few days left to enter my HUGE New Year's giveaway!

Always, Alice x
