Out And About: Birthday Brunch At Clerkenwell Grind

Instagram made me do it.

If you didn't know, I turned the ripe old age of 25 a couple of weeks ago and was lucky enough to spend it in London with my delightful other half.

Beauty: The Budget Foundation To Beat Them All

I won't sugarcoat it: I'm a self-confessed foundation hoarder.

I am always on the hunt for that dream product that will give me the perfect base and I've probably tried about 98% of foundations on the market (starting all the way back with the horror that was Dream Matte Mousse...wow).

Fashion: The Fail Safe Way To Style A Classic Trench Coat

Note to self: taking photos in bright sunshine is not the one.

Another note to self: taking outfit photos with a jacket included on one of the hottest days of the year is DEFINITELY not the one.

I digress.

Beauty: The Little Oskia Luxury That's Worth Every Penny

You know when you go into Space NK for a little browse and end up getting v.spendy in order to look even half like the glamorous sales assistants?

Yeah, that happened.

Fashion: The Ultimate White Shirt & How To Style It (ft. Radley London)

I rarely post photos of little old me on my blog, but after I was contacted about a collaboration with Radley London, I just had to make an exception and I got my Insta-husband to work straight away!

And don't you think boy done good?

I was sent the GORGEOUS Goose Green clutch bag/purse combo from Radley recently and once I'd gotten over the excitement of how bloody over the moon I was with it, I immediately got to work thinking of how I could style it.

Life: Hello June

We are officially halfway through the year.

WHAT?

I can't even believe it and as I rub after-sun into my god awful bardot shaped sunburn I'm wondering to myself how the heck it's even summer when it feels like Christmas was a week ago?

I haven't done one of these posts in a while (not since March - awks) and while I'm disappointed in my lil old self for slacking so much on the blogging front recently, SO MUCH has happened since March and it was nice to read back my old goals and see what's changed.

The Lazy Gals Guide To Sticking With The Gym

You know the drill.

You work your little arse off at the gym for a couple of weeks trying to look like Kendall Jenner/Beyonce/Rosie HW, then one night of a Netflix/Dominoes binge happens and BAM...you're off the wagon.
Gone are the dreams of being the next Womens Health cover star with abs of steel and instead you're right back where you started and your gym card is gathering dust.

25 Topshop Bits You Absolutely Need This Season

(please excuse my pudding face)

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Topshop.

Sometimes I'll go in and instantly need a hefty bank loan to afford everything I want and OMG allllll the mom jeans and cute slogan tees.
And then sometimes I'll walk in and straight back out again with the biggest disappointment face at not even finding a pair of socks I wanted to take home with me.

Right now, I want EVERYTHING.

The Perfect Spring Scent

Just when I was weighing up new fragrance options to add to my collection, the postman came a-knocking and with him brought the answer to my prayers.

Supercharge Yourself

I don't know about you, but I go through stages of being a healthy, super-fit, clean eating nutcase. In between scoffing allllll the cake, I'm constantly on the quest for wellness and finding new ways to look after my mind and body. My cupboards are chock full of superfoods and good stuff (and chocolate, cos it's all about the balance right?) but one thing I surprisingly haven't tried is Manuka honey.

Treasuring Memories With Printiki

I am actually the worst at printing off photos, and even though I got married like 8 months ago, I barely have any photos from the big day to show off to people!
Luckily, I was contacted by the lovely Beatriz at Printiki - a fab photo printing website - and I finally got my hands on some fab poloroid style photos from the big day and from our lovely little honeymoon to Brighton!

Blogging vs. Life

Hello blogging world, it's been a while.

I haven't actually sat down at my laptop and just written a post in well over a month now and I have mixed feelings about it.

The February Love List

It's been a good while since I've done any sort of favourites post, and while I'm pretty loyal to the products I use, I've accumulated a load of new faves in the last few months that I want to share with you all!

Life: Hello March

HOW IS IT MARCH?

I feel like I was taking my Christmas tree down only yesterday yet here we are on the first day of March and it's so lovely and sunny outside that I feel like spring is actually here!

February was a mix of success and failure for me. I was flying with my blog posts for the best part of the month and the photography I was putting out there is probably some of my best work and I'm SO happy with it all. Then as usual life got in the way and my routine was buggered, and I barely had any time to string together a sentence nevermind a whole blog post!

It wasn't all bad though - I got a promotion in the middle of the month and then a week later I got another little one! I've been spending the last week or so working hard at my new job role and learning so many new things, and although my little blog has been put on the back burner, it's all been for a good cause!

As I do with monthly posts, I put together my goals for the month ahead. Last month, I vowed to keep up with my fitness, improve my photography, cut down on allllllll the sugar and stop spending money and start saving it.

Okay, so I kept up with my fitness kind of. I was doing fab at the gym and had really gotten into the swing of it when my new job came around and I barely had any time to myself. I've noticed some changes in my body though and definition is starting to form so I'm looking forward to getting back into it all next week and seeing where I can go with it!
I've already mentioned that my blog photography has improved massively lately and I'm excited to create more content and see where I can go with it! I'm having a bit of a photography sesh this afternoon so watch this space!

The two I didn't do so well with though were saving the dolla and cutting down on sugar. I've had a month of travelling, eating out and driving lessons and my bank balance hates me. Hopefully with my lil pay rise starting soon I can save a bit more and spend a little less. I'm also still on the sugar but I'm determined to cut down again this month. My last blog post featured all of my healthy sweet treats and I've got a massive snack box full of them for when times get hard but I still can't kick my Ben & Jerry's addiction.

And for this month?

Pass my driving test / I feel like I've been learning to drive FOREVER and I'm determined that this WILL be the month that I finally pass! It's something I've been carrying around on my shoulders for ages and I can't wait until I can finally hold my pink license in my hand and not worry about it anymore!

Drink less coffee / I'm actually addicted to the stuff but I really want to cut down this month and start drinking a heck of a lot more water and switch to green tea instead. I know I can't get rid of the joe completely but I want to try and cut down as much as I can and get my energy levels up.

Organise my life / Okay so this is a biggy and it won't happen overnight but I want to get my shit together! I'm sick of rushing around in a morning, always forgetting things and not getting things done out of being lazy and I want to put a stop to it and make the most of my time!

As always, I'll update you next month with my progress and hopefully March will be a successful one! What are your goals for the month?

Food: Healthy Snacks For The Sugar Fiend

I AM ADDICTED TO SUGAR.

There's no two ways about it. I'm a dessert girl all the way and I can never say no to a tub of Ben & Jerry's or that slice of cheesecake for pudding with a caramel latte on the side. It wasn't much of a problem a couple of years ago when I could eat anything I want and stay a size 6 but as I've gotten older and my body has fully grown, allllll that sugar and sweet stuff is taking it's toll and the scales tell me so.

The Sunday Post: Things That Made Me Happy This Week #38

What made me happy this week...

- I started the week with a cute little gym/brunch date with my friend Lucy and we had coffee and breakfast and it was divine. I always preferred going to the gym on my own but we're both on a mission to get super fit so we thought we'd do it together and it's going fab so far (mainly due to the fact that Lu makes me do press ups and is basically just a MASSIVE ball buster). Bring on the abs!

- Me and the other half have made lots of plans over the last couple of weeks and this week we've planned a couple of little holidays which have me feeling extremely giddy! One is going to be a lil wedding anniversary trip, and the other is going to be a big family Christmas trip (spoiler...there will be snow) and I am so excited and I'm not one to wish my life away but I want it all to hurry up! Watch this space though and I'll keep you posted on our plans...

- My delightful husband (still can't get used to that) got into University! It's only early days yet and we still don't know what's in store for us come September but I'm so bloody proud nonetheless.

- If all that wasn't enough, I also got a little promotion at work and I'm so excited to start! It also means investing in a cute work wardrobe...YAAAAAASSS.

Beauty: Are You Brow Ready?

If there's one thing I love, it's a new makeup release from one of my favourite brands, so you'll understand how bloody excited I was when a little package from Rimmel London arrived on my doorstep - and if you know how much time I spend on my eyebrows in a morning, you'll understand how I actually squealed with joy when I saw it was full of their Brow This Way eyebrow products!

Life: The Healthy Habits That Really Make A Difference

In an age where everyone and everything is green and healthy and there's more HIIT loving vegans around than ever before, its easy to get caught up in fad trends for staying healthy and keeping fit.

But (and especially in my case), it's even easier to fall off the wagon and end up right back where you started being just as unhealthy with a Dominos/Costa addiction and the only exercise you're getting is walking to and from the fridge. With that in mind, I've really been making it my mission in 2017 to slowly make little changes and form habits that I can keep for life and that have really made a difference and have helped me to feel healthier and better than I've ever felt before and I want to share them with you!

Beauty: The Holy Beauty Grail Of January

If there was ever a product I'm glad I gave into the hype for, it's the Pixi Glow Tonic.
I think every blogger has a bottle of this sitting on their skincare shelf and after using it for the last month or so after FINALLY caving in and buying, I can bloody well see why.

Life: Hello February

Well that's that, the first month of 2017 done and dusted.

Anyone else think that January is the longest month EVER IN EXISTENCE yet the rest seem to pass by in the blink of an eye?
Not that I'm complaining though, as I've packed so much into January and it's really been the best start to the year that I could of hoped for and I'm excited for the rest!

Life: Books You Need To Read In 2017

I don't know about you but I was a complete and utter bookworm when I was little. I pretty much read every book in primary school and I used to go to the library round the corner and take out 5 pretty hefty books every week and I'd have them all read in a few days. I was totally obsessed with Gossip Girl, Lemony Snicket and I think I even went through the entire Nicholas Sparks collection - oh and Jacqueline Wilson, she was the ultimate BABE.

Beauty: The Ultimate Matte Factor

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Benefit. Some of their products have absolutely wowed me beyond belief whereas others have left me feeling a little bit unimpressed, and after receiving ANOTHER Benefit sample in my last Birchbox, I obviously did a little eye roll.
I received one of the POREfessional Matte Rescue gels, which I'd never actually heard of before so I wanted to put it to the test but since I wasn't all that impressed with the original POREfessional primer, I wasn't expecting that much.

Beauty: The Best Of Rimmel London 2016

Rimmel is brand who absolutely killed it in the beauty stakes last year. They brought out so many amazing new releases and I was lucky enough to work with them towards the end of the year and be sent some of their pieces!
Around Christmas time, I was sent a little package of their most popular products to create a full look (barring your base) for the festive period but me being me with my awful immune system and heavy workload, I didn't get chance to party at all over Christmas and New Year! Some of these products are old favourites of mine anyway and the newbies I've tried and tested in the last couple of weeks and I wanted to share them with you as I think they're definitely some of the best Rimmel releases of 2016!

Beauty: The One Foundation You NEED In Your Life

I've always had a love/hate relationship with the foundations I've used in the past and I would probably need like 5 pairs of hands to count how many different ones I've tried over the years, but I think I've found the one.

Hello 2017 + Huge New Year's Giveaway!

Happy New Year!

I hope you're all enjoying the first day of the New Year (instead of wishing you could crawl into a black hole from all the vodka you drank last night), and you're ready for the year ahead!
I've started my 2017 with the biggest can-do attitude which is totally cringy but totally what I need to make those little changes that I really want to make.
