Beauty: The Only Matte Lipsticks You'll Need This Autumn

If there's one thing I love more than coffee and Christmas, it's a good matte lipstick. So imagine how bloody over the moon I was when a little package with the new Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick range landed on my doorstep - OHMAGAD!

I've always been a fan of Rimmel lipsticks anyway, and Kate Moss 107 barely leaves my lips come Winter time so I was really excited to give these a go. I was sent 9 shades in total, all of which are completely different and there's something for everyone from a bold red, to a striking purple and a more natural nude.
Firstly can I just say, THE SMELL! All of the lipsticks smell of watermelon just like my beloved Kate Moss 107 and while that might not be everyone's cup of tea, I love it and it's definitely more refreshing than most lipsticks that smell like they've been at the bottom of my Nan's handbag for years.
As for the actual lipsticks, the bullet is round in shape, which isn't something I'm used to, but I actually quite love. They're all easy to apply and even though they're matte, they're definitely not drying or chalky. They're super comfortable to wear for hours on end and while they're not the longest lasting matte lipsticks out there, they definitely stand the test of time for a good couple of hours before a touch up is needed.

l-r: Run The Show (a vibrant purple), Look Who's Talking  (a deep nude brown), The Matte Factor (a deep berry red), Take The Stage (a classic true red), Call The Shots (a bright fuschia), Leader Of The Pink (a bright bubblegum pink), High Flyer (a pink nude), Salute (a light bubblegum pink), Trendsetter (a peach nude)

I think the shade range is fab too and there's a shade to suit everyone. I'm not massively keen on the palest nude shade 'Trendsetter' or the vibrant pinky shades - and the purple is gorgeous but probably not to my taste. The darker berry shades, however, are right up my street! I've been wearing 'Look Who's Talking' (a dark nude/brown shade) constantly for the last couple of weeks and I'm in love. I also can't get enough of the 'Take The Stage' (a classic red) and 'The Matte Factor' (a dark berry red), which are perfect for this time of year and are gorgeous statement shades.

Probably the only thing I'm not too keen on (and it's just me being a complete fusspot) is the packaging. Each lipstick comes in a plastic red tube with a coloured strip along the bottom that correlates to the colour of the lipstick. It's not bad. I just find a simpler, black tube looks a lot more elegant but they wanted to go for something bold and statement and that's what you get!

Overall, at only £6.99 per lipstick, you really can't go wrong and they rival some of the higher priced matte lipsticks out there for a fraction of the price! I know I'll be rocking my babe 'Look Who's Talking' for the forseeable future and I couldn't be happier...thanks Rimmel!
