Since Spring is around the corner and Summer will be here before we know it, I thought it was time I gave my everyday makeup routine a bit of a shake up. I've been loyal to my trusty deep berry lips and nails since the first day of Autumn and while in Winter it's been nice not having to fake tan or look positively glowing or bronzed, I'm ready for all that to change.
My main makeup mission for Spring is glow-getting. Sadly most of it will be artificial as I have no holiday plans on the horizon just yet but after having a dig around in my stash, I found the perfect products to help my skin glow until I can get some real life sunshine. Funnily enough, the first product to help me with this is Topshop's Glow cream highlighter in the shade 'Polished' (similar here). I really don't give this enough love but I've been using it for the last few days and I'd forgotten how amazing it actually is! A little goes a long way and just a quick dab along the tops of my cheekbones makes my pale complexion look A LOT healthier.
Under my eyes, I've been using the L'Oreal Lumi Magique highlighting concealern which is a pretty amazing dupe for the YSL Touché Eclat. While it's not the most amazing concealer I've ever tried, it brightens my panda eyes like nothing else and combined with The Body Shop's All-In-One BB Cream, provides the perfect no-fuss base for Spring.
My base isn't the only area of my makeup routine where I'm craving a glow - I've been addicted to ALL the golden hued eyeshadows I can get my hands on recently and the POP Bright Up Your Life eyeshadow trio in Peach Parfait (Birchbox sample, available full size as Naturally Bare) has got it all. The golden tones really compliment my blue eyes and it makes a welcome change from my usual taupe eyeshadow/winged eyeliner combo!
Lips wise, I couldn't help but mention my favourite lipstick brand AGAIN. If you've read my blog before you'll know how totally head over heels I am with Gosh and their range of Velvet Matt lipsticks and the pinky shade '002 Rose' is my all-time favourite. It's the perfect everyday shade that's fuss-free and flattering and did I mention it's only £6.99?!
Something a tad more high-end that I've been loving is the NARS gloss in Shade 1 (from the Tech Fashion Lip Gloss Cofrett). I'm really not a gloss girl but after receiving this as gift a year or so ago, I thought it was finally time to get some use in and I've been converted! It's the perfect peachy nude shade that looks great with minimal makeup or the golden shadowed eyes I mentioned and it's not horribly sticky either...WIN!
Lastly, on my nails this Spring will be two of my favourite nude shades from Rimmel - Rita Ora's Rain Rain Go Away and 60 Seconds Super Shine in Caramel Cupcake. Both are very low maintenance shades that are perfect for a quick nail fix, and both are a great alternative to the bold pastel shades that I'm not quite ready for just yet...
What are you wearing on your face this Spring? I'd love some recommendations!

DeleteSome lovely make up bits you've got and your photos are fab! :) I really want to try the Body Shop BB cream, I saw it in there a while back and it looked amazing. My mum used the L'Oreal Lumi Magique the other day and it really brightened up her eyes, so need to give that a go too! It's just the applicator that puts me off a bit!
