Beauty: A Little Bit Of Charlotte Tilbury Magic

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm in love.

Head over heels in love with a woman named Charlotte and I just can't hide it anymore.

As mentioned in my 2015 Beauty Favourites, last year was ALL about the flamed haired lady and her fabulous range of makeup and skincare. Like a magpie, I was drawn to the shiny rose gold packaging straight away and it was a massive bonus that what was inside was amazing too. I'm the lucky owner of 2 Matte Revolution lipsticks (Glastonberry and Love Liberty FYI...both of which you NEED to own!) and the Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette which I think graces the dressing table of just about every beauty blogger there is. But I wanted more.

Enter the Magic Foundation. Also known as THE best freakin' foundation ever.

I bought it on a bit of a whim on a recent trip to Liverpool and thanks to the absolutely lovely gal on the John Lewis CT counter, I was matched up with a shade that perfectly matched my skin tone and rivaled the finish of my beloved NARS Sheer Glow. The cheeky devil also tried to sell me a dozen other products and if the purse strings would have allowed it, I'd have been walking out there with the best part of the whole collection. But no, self control stepped in and I went away the happy owner of one Magic Foundation.

The shade range is fab for a new release, with 15 shades all available for all skin tones, types and ages, and as predicted, I was one of the lightest shade in Shade 2.
Upon first application, I was sold. It has that real your-skin-but-better appeal to it and while it's definitely a full coverage foundation, it doesn't feel as though there's anything on your skin at all. A little goes along way too since the stuff ain't cheap - although it's a whole £2 cheaper than Sheer Glow, just sayin'.
I've received soooo many compliments on my complexion since I started using this little bottle of magic and it's definitely a love affair that's not going to end anytime soon.

Have you tried the Magic Foundation or any other CT products? What is on your wishlist?

  1. I came across this foundation last year and it's just my favourite ever! I too love Sheer Glow, but the prospect that this is actually good for your skin as well as making it look great makes it a winner!! x

  6. what skin type do you have? I'm combination (more on the oily side) so was wondering if this or the Nars Sheer Glow would work for me?

    1. I have relatively combination skin too and this works great. It's full coverage but it's not too matte and it doesn't feel like it's clogging up the skin too much x

  8. I've only tried a week's sample of this foundation so far and I loved it! I don't know why I haven't bought it yet. I also have Glastonberry but wasn't overly impressed, it just doesn't last long on me at all xx

    1. Get on it Alice! Yeah, I have to admit that Love Liberty lasts a hell of a lot longer than Glastonberry (not sure why?) but the formula is still one of the best that I've tried in a matte lipstick! x

  13. The packaging is so so cute! I've heard really great things about this foundation! It's always hard for me to find a foundation that works because I'm so stinkin' pale, but I NEED to check this foundation out! It's beautiful! xx

  14. I've had the makeup artists at the CT counters try their foundations on me before, but I've never been a fan. I have super oily skin, so the foundations last only a few hours before they look horrible. Maybe the new one will work a bit better for me! It looks amazing!

  15. I tried a sample of this and loved how it made my skin look! Unfortunately I can't justify splurging on a new foundation when I've got so many to use up first, but it's definitely on my wishlist. Nothing better than finding a foundation that just works for you!
