Lush Hull Blogger Event

Last night was something that dreams were made of as I was kindly invited down to the Lush Hull store for their first ever blogger event!

We were welcomed inside by the happiest and quirky team of staff  I've ever seen and we had a little bit of time to greet everyone, have a nosy at new products and take photos of the store and have a little nibble on the healthy treats the Lush girls had laid out for us!

After a quick introduction to everybody,  we were taken over to the Gorilla Perfume section of the store and given these awesome illustrated comic books with stories about the newest range of perfumes Death, Decay and Renewal! We learned a little bit about the back story of each one (there's Death & Decay, All Good Things and Kerbside Violet) and then the relevant page of the comic book was sprayed with the scent and lemme tell ya it's been 12+ hours and my comic book still smells AMAAAAAAZING!
My favourite of them all was probably Death & Decay as it was nothing like I'd ever smelled before and the idea of the scent changing from something confusing and unknown to something comforting - just like the feeling of losing a loved one but then remembering all of the lovely things about them - was just a brilliant concept! I'd highly recommend going instore and giving these a whiff yourself and the lovely Lush ladies can tell you the inspiration behind each scent which is worth hearing!

The Easter range had arrived instore and straight away I fell in love! The range hits stores TODAY (woo!) so we were given a little exclusive sneak peek to some returning products and some newbies as well, and Cat and Chelsea give us demos of each of the bath products which were so pretty! To top it off as well they generously gave each of us 2 products of our choice from the range to take home! Go instore and check out the range for yourself as it's a good'un and one not to be missed (or you can shop online here too!) My personal faves have to be the Carrot soap and the Bunch of Carrots reusable bubble bar, which both have the same yummy, fruity scent and the Golden Egg which is a sparkly mix between a luxurious bath melt and a bath bomb - plus it smells like toffee and fudge and looks like you're bathing in molten gold, YES!

The fun didn't stop there...After that we were divided into 2 groups (done by picking out coloured shampoo bars from a bag, how cute!) and half went to make the Cosmetic Catastrophe face mask and the other to make Angels On Bare Skin cleanser. I was on face mask duty, which is one of few Lush products I'm yet to try! Cosmetic Catastrophe is a yummy blueberry (with REAL blueberries!) mask that is also made with calamine, chamomile and rose, orange and almond oils for a mask that is full of antioxidants but also calms and soothes the skin . We got to mix all together ourselves and it was fab to see how they get their products from the Lush Kitchen to the stores! We were each given a generous pot of this to take home too as well as the Angels cleanser that the other group had made!

Next came shopping time and also a chance for a personal consultation with one of the lovely Lush girls. I couldn't resist a shop and I picked up a few bits on my wishlisy as well as some bits for my Mum's birthday (she's as addicted as me, it's a family thing). I was then taken aside to choose one of their solid perfumes to take home with me, and I went for the jasmine-scented Sikkim Girls. I love the concept of these as it looks like a little mini tub of lip balm but you rub it on your wrists and neck and the scent comes to life!

After spending a small fortune on goodies, it was time to say goodbye! I had such a lovely night and hopefully everyone involved did too and I'd love to be a part of similar things in the future. It was great to see a blogger event with an established brand happen so close to home and it was quite fitting and personal to me that Lush Hull was my first event as well as theirs!

You're mistaken if you think the fun stops there though! If any of you lovelies pop into Lush Hull in the near future and tell them that you read my blog and that I sent you to have a look at their new products, you'll get a little free gift to take home too! Give them a follow on Instagram too to keep up to date with all the new releases...

A massive thankyou to Lush Hull for the invitation and my fellow #Hullbloggers for such an amazing night..,and thanks for making my entire house smell absolutely divine! It was lovely to meet Lois, Scarlet, Cat and Chelsea from the Hull store and hopefully it is the start of many more fun-filled events of theirs to come!

Always, Alice x
