After a tough debate with myself, I managed to pick out 8 of my ultimate favourite lipsticks that I would highly recommend to anyone who will listen!
The Nudes...
I'm a bit of a newbie to a nude lip, but I'm slowly starting to jump on the bandwagon and the next stop will be the Kylie Jenner 90s pout! For now, my favourites are the Maybelline Colorsensational in 'Velvet Beige' which is a lovely creamy nude-brown (a creamy dupe for Velvet Teddy perhaps?!) I love wearing this on my barely there days, and even though it doesn't last for hours on end, the colour is still beautiful and it nourishes my lips like no other! My other pick is this peachy nude from Sleek in the shade 'Barely There'. It's from their sheen collection, so again, the staying power isn't ground-breaking but it's such a pretty shade and one I'm excited to wear more and more as Spring approaches!
By far my favourite shade to wear, anyone who knows me knows how fond I am of my bold red lip! First up is MAC's 'M.A.C Red', which is a satin finish. The colour is incredibly and it lasts for hours but moisturises the lips as you wear it. I've always felt this shade deserves more credit alongside it's Ruby Woo counterpart, but nonetheless it's a firm favourite of mine! Next is L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Blake Red, which is one of if not the best red lipstick I have ever owned! I think the colour is slightly too bright for my pale skin but I love it anyway, and if you want a bold matte red lip then this one is a winner!
I couldn't leave out the Rimmel Kate Moss 107, which is one I am never without at the minute! It's a gorgeous matte deep wine red which suits almost every skintone and it lasts for hours and hours!
The Plums...
This winter has definitely seen the beauty and blogger world go berry-lip mad, and I was definitely no exception to this - in fact I probably have enough berry lipsticks to last me for the next 10 years - but here are my top 3!
At my first ever visit to a NARS counter last year, I was on the hunt for the Audacious 'Ingrid' lipstick but it was nowhere to be found, so instead I settled for the deep purple 'Liv' instead and I'm glad I did! This is definitely the most vampy of my collection and it's great for a night out. It's a matte formula as well so it stays put (be sure to apply lip balm before hand though to avoid any nasty patches!)
My Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in 'Glastonberry' is next and it is one that I definitely need to wear more! It it so easy to apply due to the square-shaped tip, and the colour is beautiful. It's incredibly long-wearing as well which is fab as it's a lot more pricey than the others!
Last up is one I'd forgotten I had in my collection, Revlon 'Black Cherry'. It's quite similar to the NARS one in colour, just without as much staying power. But for a high street alternative, I'd definitely recommend if you're on a budget!
Are you a nude, red or berry kinda gal? Let me know your lipstick recommendations in the comments as I'm always on the hunt for more! And as always don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin if you'd like to keep up to date with more blog posts :)
Always, Alice x

Ooh love the reds! And your plummy CT one is GORGEOUS. I'm trying to get into more plum shades these days, usually I'm out rocking my typical coral shades because why not?!? I am loving BITE BEAUTY at the moment, they're so long-lasting and creamy and smells great too!
